I like to read the newspaper because it gives me a lot of facts. It tells me what is happening in the world and also what is happening in sports, too. My favorite section is Kid Scoop. The best part is finding out if my article is picked for the Weekly Writing Corner. This encourages me to keep on writing instead of watching TV. I feel that all kids should read the newspaper, otherwise they would be missing out on all the great information.

My second graders feel like authors...They are no longer writing sentences, but stories. When you've been published in a newspaper, you're an author...They continue doing it past the assignment, at home, after school and over the summer.

I have been pleased with our decision to switch to Kid Scoop. The feedback from the teachers has been positive, and I have been thrilled with the response to the Weekly Writing Corner. Thank you for providing a page that is educationally sound and fun for kids.

My favorite parts of the newspaper are the Life section, which has Kid Scoop... I think other kids should read the newspaper because it is good for kids to be informed.

I go to my aunt's every week. The only day that I'm not bored is Tuesday when I'm doing Kid Scoop.
