Weekly Writing Corner

“Thank you. Thank you for all that you have done for us this year. The children love, love writing and can’t wait to see what the next writing is every week. I hope some of them will continue to write in the summer and we will definitely write next year although I may be in a different grade next year. Again, thank you, thank you!”

Submissions on the topic Describe Your Hair from students in San Luis Obispo, CA

My hair is strawberry blond. My hair is also wavy. I like my hair in braids, ponytails and half up.
Rebecca, 3rd grade
St. Rose School

I want my hair to be green and blue.
Hannah, 3rd grade
St Rose School

My hair is long and black. When it is in the sun it has a medium, brown glow to it. At times my hair feels like a poof ball and at others it is soft and shiny. When I wash my hair it gets really curly. In the future, I would like to cut my hair to chin length and get some bangs.
Brianna, 5th grade
Sinsheimer School

My hair is blonde and shot. I like my hair, but I can't do too much with it! I am growing my hair longer so I can actually put it up in a bun or a ponytail. My hair is layered, so it can be hard to work with sometimes. I am pleased with my hair, but I can't wait until it grows out.
Cami, 5th grade
Sinsheimer School

My hair is a "mop." That's what I call my hair. I'm a dirty blonde and my hair is very thick. Sometimes my hair feels so thick that my neck turns to a frying pan and I could probably fry an egg on it! My hair falls to about the middle of my rib cage. I also have a side part.
Natalie, 5th grade
Sinsheimer School

My hair is a beautiful sandy blonde color. It shimmers when the sun beats down on it. It just kisses my shoulders. I love the feeling of my hair, swishing and swashing in the early morning wind. I love my beautiful blond hair and you better too!
Emma, 5th grade
Sinsheimer School

My hair is brown and short, but I want my hair to be either like Will Smith or a HUGE Afro. A blonde Afro would be awesome. The coolest hair would be like Will Smith, gelled and black.
Kerney, 6th grade
St. Patrick School

I have short, brown, messy and puffy hair.
Matt, 6th grade
St. Patrick School

My hair is dirty blonde with really short sideburns. Whenever I get a haircut, my ears look like a taxicab with its doors open. Before school I always wet my hair so mom thinks I took a shower.
Benny, 5th grade
Hawthorne School

My hair is curly, dirty blonde and wavy. Sometimes when I brush my hair, it looks like waves in the ocean.
Gabriel, 5th grade
Hawthorne School

My hair is short and brown but I would like my hair to have small curls and have shiny purple and red highlights. When people look at me, the highlights would pop out!
Jillian, 6th grade
Pacheco School

My hair is all different colors. It's blonde, brown, and a little red, but I don't dye it. It is straight on top and curly underneath. It's a medium length and I'm growing it out for Locks of Love. I like my hair!
Grace, 6th grade
Pacheco School

I wish I had long enough hair to put it into a Mohawk. My hair is very short.
Aric, 5th grade
Hawthorne School

My hair looks like chestnuts with a hint of gold. My mom always says it looks like coffee. It's wavy in the front and straight in the back.
Karina, 5th grade
Hawthorne School
