Weekly Writing Corner

“Thank you. Thank you for all that you have done for us this year. The children love, love writing and can’t wait to see what the next writing is every week. I hope some of them will continue to write in the summer and we will definitely write next year although I may be in a different grade next year. Again, thank you, thank you!”

School Submissions

Submissions on the topic of Make a Difference from 4th and 5th graders at Hawthorne School, San Luis Obispo, CA

I make a difference in my town because I go to Woods Human Society and pet and play with the dogs and cats. It makes them have a happier life and sometimes gives them a better chance to be adopted. Plus, sometimes all they need is love. That's how I make a difference in my town.
Shea

I make a difference by helping my mom with my little sister. Sometimes I help feed my sister or maybe help change her. That's how I make a difference.
Leslie

I can help my brother with his homework, sometimes.
Jacob

I make a difference in my dad's life because I give him hope. And when he's away, I tell him what's happening in the house.
Max

I can make a difference by recycling. My mom can make a difference by working for the county. Everybody can make a difference if you just put your mind to it.
Devlen

I would like to make a difference in my city. I would like to help them by using fewer resources, such as using less water. I am going to give a hand and save the world.
Danielle

I'm good at being a good friend at school. I make new friends every year. I already have ten friends. This year I met three new friends and they are really nice.
