How to Preserve a Starfish

Seashells.org identifies lots of different types of starfish [also called "sea stars"] in this lovely photo gallery. Here you'll also learn the best way to preserve a starfish. Soak it in 70% isopropyl alcohol overnight. Let it dry out real well on a paper towel, in the sun if at all possible. Weigh down the legs so that the starfish does not curl up as it dries.
