Here’s a raft of interesting water facts and trivia, including specifically about water qualities, water and health, water use, water pollution, and water as a raw material. Sample facts:

1) it takes 9.3 gallons of water to produce a can of fruit or vegetables, 2) most of the world's people must walk at least 3 hours to fetch water and 3) a 5-minute shower uses 25 to 50 gallons of water. There are enough facts here to fill a “fact card” deck or post on a wall display. Recast these facts into True/False questions for use in a quiz.

SeaWorld has devised a simple “Weight of Water” classroom activity. In the end, kids realize that saltwater is heavier than fresh water. It’s easy to do; kids use a wide-mouth pint jar, a fresh egg, large serving spoons and water.
