Bananas Banana Lessons Here are lesson plans for Banana Day (not an official holiday or anything, just a fun exploration of the wonderful yellow fruit.) Subjects include: language arts, social studies, math, art, science and movement. Chiquita Chiquita is a well known fruit supplier, and this is their website. You can go several directions from their homepage. Kids will like the "find where Miss Chiquita is hiding" activity. From there, check out "Banana Logic,” a group of not-too-squishy banana facts. Or click on "Discover" to find the family fun section. Banana Math Click on this link and you will find a very simple web page featuring "The Banana-Eating Camel Puzzle,” which posits: "You have 3,000 bananas that must be transported across a desert..." Check it out. Banana Museum What a marvelous celebration of everything-banana! The Washington Banana Museum in Auburn, Washington is filled with old photographs, advertising cards, funny sayings. |
