A “memorial” is a structure built to remind people of an important person or event. Memorials are found in cities all over the world! Many countries also establish “memorial” days to recognize and recall brave deeds or significant moments in history. Memorial Day in the United States is observed each year on the last Monday of May. This special day honors the brave Americans who died while serving in the U.S. military. This issue focuses on the impressive memorial in Washington D.C. that honors the men and women who fought during the Vietnam War.
