Monarch’s Journey

← Continue shopping

Many animals travel long distances to find new “habitats”—or places to live. At other times animals return to the region where they were born to lay eggs for a new generation. Animal movement, known as migration, is one way animals help their young survive and thrive in climates more favorable to growth. The delicate Monarch butterfly is one powerful flyer when it comes to migrating for mating. Once the seasons change from summer to fall, natural instinct notifies the Monarch that it’s time to travel from cooler North American regions to warmer southern climates, flying thousands of miles to lay their eggs. It’s an epic journey that demonstrates animal intelligence, instinct, and determination. Learn more about the Monarch’s migration habits and discover their journey from egg to caterpillar to the butterfly that you see flutter by!
