When is a horse not a horse? When it’s a seahorse, of course! This unique creature of the open seas has body parts that match other animals—and not only a horse! Borrowing a monkey’s tail and a kangaroo’s pouch for starters, the seahorse also has the eyes and external armor of at least two other familiar animals. Discover what is unique about those goggly eyes, why the seahorse’s mouth is not really a mouth after all, and how the daddy seashores carries its babies before they are born. The seahorse can even use its tail like a hand. What a peculiar fellow!
