Over the Easter weekend, a giant iceberg appeared off the coast of a small town called Ferryland in Newfoundland. It is estimated to be about 150 feet (46m) high.

The town has become a hot spot for visitors taking pictures of the iceberg and selfies with this in the background.

The waterways off the coast here are known as “Iceberg Alley” and icebergs drifting south from the arctic are a common site in the spring. As many as 40 icebergs have already been mapped this year floating down the waterway.

But this particular iceberg is extremely large and has become stranded in the shallow waters creating this great photo op. It has generated international attention and reports have a appeared in newspapers from Korea to Poland.
